Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Demonstration, Projection, Skills training
Learning outcomes
Students should familiarize themselves with basics of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). They will apply examples of approaches of GIS in visualisation and analysis in practical excersises, with stress on transportation matters.
After graduating of the course the student knows the theoretical foundation of geographic information systems and can use GIS desktop applications. The student is able to modify the appearance of the map, search for information in it, to carry out basic analysis and present their results. The student has knowledge of the possibilities of applications of GIS in transport.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of work with the PC.

Assessment methods and criteria
Home assignment evaluation, Discussion

For the granting of credit is neded successful completion of a practical test at the computer, and an explanation of steps taken.
