|
Air Protection : General problems and laws; influences of polluted atmosphere, smog. Mechanisms of removal of dust particles from gases, determination of the particle size distribution, expressing the distribution. Measuring of dust concentration, instruments. Control of particulate emissions by mechanical collectors, wet scrubbers, fabric filters and electrostatic precipitators. Characteristics of apparatuses, design calculations. Methods and apparatuses for gas emissions control. Absorption, adsorption, incineration and some other procedures. Desulfuration, denitrification, removal of fluorine compounds. Water Protection : General problems and laws. Physico-chemical methods of waste water treatment ( sedimentation, filtration etc.). Chemical methods - neutralization, precipitation, membrane processes, flocullation. Biological methods - basic principles, activate sludge processing, disc rotational reactors. Modelling of the processes, design calculations. Biological and chemical denitrification, biological and chemical removal of phosphorus from waste water.
