week 1: Geographic information system and geoinformatics, basic concepts. Spatial data and their representation in GIS, raster and vector map layers. Spatial interconnection of data. week 2: Topology. Coordinate systems and map projections. week 3: Map servers and their use, map services of the National Geoportal INSPIRE. Overview of other map servers with environmental focus. week 4: Sources of GIS data on the environment, metainformation systems on GIS data. week 5: Vector data processing, basic query and analytical functions. week 6: Raster data processing, digital terrain model and distribution of physical and chemical quantities in the area. Map algebra. week 7: Remote sensing of the Earth. Possibilities of using remote sensing data. week 8: Approaches to GIS as an information system, examples of environmental applications, the use of GIS in state administration and self-government in the field of environmental protection and management of natural resources, in the management of protected areas. week 9: Information systems on the state of the environment in the Czech Republic - air. week 10: Information systems on the state of the environment in the Czech Republic - water. week 11: Information systems on the state of the environment in the Czech Republic - soil. week 12: General information systems on the environment. Important information sources of the EU, the world. week 13: Modeling of processes in the environment.
