Course content |
Primary nitramines. Nitrolysis of hexamethylenetetraamine. Crystallization of NTO. Determination of crystal size and shape. Esterification, esters of nitric acid. Thermal analysis. Individual literature search on the synthesis of compound, synthesis and characterization.

To introduce safety precautions during the work with energetic materials. To introduce main reactions used in the synthesis of energetic materials. To introduce methods for determination of thermal stability of explosives.
Individual search of information about synthesis, selection of suitable method and safe preparation of the compound. Basic assessment of thermal stability of the substance. |
