Course content
Basic terms, explosive systems, explosion process, effects of detonation, acoustic approximation, similarity, effect of explosive (zones of impact, calculation of charges, estimation of constants) explosives and initiators, types of blasting works, safety in blasting operations, law related to blasting, overview of companies involved in blasting operations

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
Learning outcomes
the goal is to create a complex understanding of the basic terms and procedures related to a small as well as a large scale blasting works with emphasis on surface mining and necessary legislative (CBU, ADR).
The student is upon the completion of the course able to prepare technological procedure for small scale surface blasting works; he/she is capable of orientation in use of methods and devices for surface blasting. The successful completion of the course is a requirement for further studies in detonation physics especially the processes taking place in blasting operations.
