Course content
Introduction, explosophores, types of explosives. Nitration agents, nitrogen oxides, safety. C-Nitrocompounds: aromatic, aliphatic. Insensitive and thermally stable explosives. N-nitrocompounds. Nitrate esters with alcohols. Inorganic compounds as a part of explosives, oxidisers. Compounds for gas generating safety systems. Energetic polymers and azidocompounds. Industruially produced primary explosives. Primary explosives - properties, application and specifics Industruially produced primary explosives Modern and rare types of primary explosives

Learning outcomes
To introduce main types of chemical reactions used for production of energetic materials. To introduce methods of preparation, basic properties, application and safety characteristics of individual types of energetic materials.
Student obtains knowledge about individual groups of energetic materials, their method of preparation, technology, application and limitations in the use due to their power, sensitivity, stability and toxicity.
