Course content
|
This course is directly related to the course Advanced Explosion Theory I. The subject content is the study of shock waves (SW) with regard to the specifics of SW generated by detonation. Students are introduced to the generation and action of SW in gaseous, liquid and solid media. Emphasis is placed on the description of SW behavior at the impedance interface, and students are briefly introduced to the possibilities of using hydrodynamic computational models and practical applications arising from the theory of SW effects.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the details of shock wave propagation in various environments. Emphasis is placed on the specifics of the effects of blast generated shock waves.
Students will be theoretically prepared for the application of pressure (shock, detonation) wave energy in industry or in the military.
