Course content
Nomenclature, basic principles of organic chemistry, stereochemistry, reaction mechanisms, chemistry of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alkyl and aryl halides, alcohols, ethers, carbonyl compounds, carboxylic acids and its derivatives, nitrogen compounds, sulfur compounds and other important biological and technical compounds.

Learning outcomes
This course will develop a number of basic concepts that will serve as the foundation for understanding of nomenclature, molecular structures, reactivity and mechanisms of reactions for more classes of organic compounds.
Knowledge in procedures for prediction of chemical properties of organic compounds.
Prerequisites
Knowledge in basic organic chemistry within the scope of high school course, knowledge of inorganic chemistry within the scope of the former course.

Oral examination, Written examination

Basic general and inorganic chesmistry.
