Learning outcomes
The aim of this subject is to deepen practical knowledge and skills of students in the field of communication technologies. Each of a laboratory task is aimed primarily at the basic parameters of the transmission environment and signal digitization. The main focus is on optical communications.
After completing the subject, the student manages the problems in the field of data transmission especially optical lines and metallic lines. Practically he will be familiar with the problem of the transmission by optical path and will be able to measure its basic parameters. Students will know the basic techniques of fibers welding.
Prerequisites
This subject is focused on using transmission systems. Basic knowledge expected from the students: Information theory and signal (modulation, attenuation, distortion, modulation and transmission speed and theory of Nyquist and Shannon, time and frequency code multiplex.

Assessment methods and criteria
