Course content
1. Conditions for completing the course. University library services. 2. Introduction to the subject, basic terminology. 3. Document description. Citation ethics, creation of citations. 4. History of libraries. 5. Library system. Library catalogs. 6. Internet search. 7. Secondary information sources. 8. Primary information sources. 9. Information sources for ICT. 10. Corporate, economic and legal information. 11. Standards and patents. 12. Copyright and Creative Commons. Final university theses. 13. Searches. In the case of distance learning, lessons will be tought trough MS Teams. Lessons will be at the time shown in the timetable. MS Teams is equivalent to participation and or attendens in lectures and excersises.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Methods of individual activities, Demonstration, Skills training
  • Contact teaching - 4 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 40 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to teach students to use independently and effectively library and information services and electronic information resources, especially in the field of computer science and electrical engineering; know citation standards and be able to apply them.
After completing the course, the student will be document literate, ie able to solve a "specific information problem". They will be able to select suitable information sources for a given topic, search for relevant information, process searches and correctly cite the sources used. He will be able to justify and defend his actions.
Prerequisites
The student masters working with a PC at the user level and at least at the basic level English.
