Course content
Theoretical and methodological approaches to the public finance. Methods of measurement, indicators of extension and size of public finance. Fiscal sustainability and reasons of growth of public finance. Efectivness of public expenditures and methods of its evaluating. Public revenues and possibilities of their increasing. Public finance and macroeconomics equilibrium. Public deficit and public debt. Selected issues of budgetary and fiscal policy of EU. Public finance in Czech Republic, actual state and problems, the public finance reform.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book)
  • Home preparation for classes - 30 hours per semester
  • Independent critical reading - 15 hours per semester
  • Term paper - 35 hours per semester
  • Preparation for a credit (assessment) - 16 hours per semester
  • Contact teaching - 14 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an exam - 40 hours per semester
Learning outcomes

Students will be able to use acquired theoretical knowledge in the economic sphere as well as in further study of the follow-up Bachelor and Master courses.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Home assignment evaluation, Presentation

The assignment is granted upon completion of the following conditions: active attendance at seminars,completion and presentation of the seminar paper and succesfull passing of assigment test. The examination is written.
