Course content
Course Description: Principal and function of regional economics Main theoretic directions in RE- Supply and demand in the cubic analyses Analysis in the regional economic structure Conception of local development in its economic interpretation Localisation analysis and its theoretical base Economic conjunctions in migration Culturally historical position of locations in the territorial developing conceptions Regional policy Economic conjunctions in land-use planning, urbanization and urban development

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
  • Preparation of a presentation (report) - 5 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
The subject makes it possible to get knowledge about processes, which aim at the spatial organization of national and regional economy. Student becomes familiar with the principles, crucial for analysis of economic base of regions and urban settlement and with the possibilities of its forming from the part of institutions responsible for their socioeconomic development. Students obtain knowledge enabling to find and interpret the causes of changes in spatial economic relations, in which are, from economic points of view, substantial regional processes and analyses.
Students will understand economic connections in the spatial arrangement, furthermore they will realize the context of the space economics and its development within economic theories. Students will be further acquainted with the overview of regional policy and economic development. They will be able to apply theoretical knowledge at the practical level.
Prerequisites
Students must know the fundamentals of micro and macro economics, especially the functioning of individual markets, the behavior of economic entities and the formation of the price of production factors.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Student performance assessment

Student successfully pass the seminar when fulfilling the presumption of active participation in the seminar and presentation of the seminar work. Closing assignment: Written test, conferment of credit - in the case of reaching 60% correct answers
