Course content
Financial planning. Risks and their hedging. Risks in life and financial situations. Life and non-life insurance. Building savings, pension savings. Loans - importance, price, consumer, and mortgage loans. Investing and expecting results. Investment Products - Collective investment, ETFs, and certificates. Choice of investment strategy and portfolio.

  • Participation in classes - 36 hours per semester
  • Preparation for a credit (assessment) - 10 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an exam - 44 hours per semester
  • Preparation of a presentation (report) - 30 hours per semester
  • Writing a seminar paper - 30 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Objective of the course - to understand the principles and management of personal finances at a practical level, while being aware of the existing risks.
A student who has successfully completed the course can: create a personal financial plan; define possible risks; characterize insurance products within personal finances; characterize banking products within personal finance; characterize savings and investment products within personal finance. A student who has successfully completed the course will be able to: interpret the compiled financial plan; propose different options for hedging risks; assess the suitability of credit financing for living needs; propose the optimal allocation of free funds within the entire financial market. A student who has successfully completed the course is able to: manage your personal finances; communicate information about personal finance management to professionals and laypeople in a comprehensible and convincing manner.
Prerequisites
Prerequisite for successful mastery of the subject is knowledge of basic questions that are solved by macroeconomics.

Oral examination, Written examination, Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment

Credit will be awarded based on: - presentation of the seminar paper, - active participation in seminars. The exam will be written and oral.
