Course content
Communication as a social phenomenon (meaning, changes in forms of communication, stakeholders) Relationship Intelligence and Creative Workplace Communication (Art of Listening, Brainstorming, Mind Map, Ice-Breaker) Emotional Intelligence and Crisis Communication in the Workplace (Art of Emotion, Conflict Management) Communication and art to present (leadership, moderation, discussion) Internal communication - written forms (personnel documents, organization of written contacts, archiving and security, possibilities of new technologies) External communication - communication within supplier-customer relations Communication with the customer (establishing, maintaining and terminating the contact, complaint procedure) Communication with the public (public relations, the possibilities of using mass media in the public interest) Selected cases of communication studies

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
  • Contact teaching - 65 hours per semester
  • Preparation for a credit (assessment) - 13 hours per semester

  • Home preparation for classes - 26 hours per semester
  • Term paper - 20 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The main aim of the course is to provide up-to-date information about possibilities and pitfalls of communication within the company and its surroundings. Simultaneously practice and build communication softskils of students.
A student who has successfully completed the course can: explain the importance of communication and its forms in the organization and its surroundings, the importance of building long-term relationships with stakeholders; use Ice-breaker games to create the right atmosphere (eg, meeting, engaging new members in the team); enumerate and explain the basic concepts and terms related to the communication of organizations.

Assessment methods and criteria
Home assignment evaluation

Active participation in seminars; preparation and presentation of a seminar paper (in groups). Completion of the examination test with at least 60%.
