Course content
Introduction to the issue of internal security and public order. Management and organization in the field of internal security and public order. Security planning. Fire Rescue Brigade firefighters and civic associations. Role of the Police in maintaining public order. Prevention of criminality. Emergency Medical Service. Army of the Czech Republic. Municipal police a private security services. Intelligence services. Customs Administration, the prison service and GIBS. Foreign police and International cooperation of Police.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with a comprehensive idea of internal security issues in the current security environment. Emphasis is placed on the complexity of the approach to internal security, the definition of duties, competencies, and responsibilities of its individual components.
A student who has successfully completed the course can: define basic terms in the field of internal security and public order and be able to characterize the organization and links within the security system of the Czech Republic; describe the relations between the departments ensuring internal security and public order; explain the issues of security planning and the focus of planning documents; characterize the scope and tasks of the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, associations of volunteer firefighters, the Police of the Czech Republic, medical rescue services, the Army of the Czech Republic, municipal police, private security services, intelligence services, the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic, the General Inspection of Security Forces, the foreign police; describe funding for homeland security and public order; explain the organizational links enabling international cooperation of the Police of the Czech Republic. A student who has successfully completed the course will be able to: orientate yourself in the applicable legal regulations in the field of internal security; understandably interpret the results of analyzes aimed at assessing the security situation of selected regions and propose measures to improve the security situation; A student who has successfully completed the course is able to: independently and responsibly propose solutions to model situations based on the framework assignment; to include consideration of their ethical dimension in solving problems; to clearly and convincingly communicate information about the nature of professional problems and one's own opinion on their solution to both experts and laymen.

Successful completion of the course is conditional on completion of assigned tasks, completion of assignment and completion of the written and oral parts of the exam. The assignment conditions: 75% of attendance, completion of submitted tasks, passing a written test (minimum requirement is 65 %). The exam is in a combined form.
