Definition of quality in a market environment. International and domestic quality standards. Quality management methods. Analysis of quality measurement system. Modern approaches to quality. Basic concepts of commodity knowledge, quality standards and testing Trading systems, wholesale and retail. Product characteristics, testing and certification of goods. Classification and labeling of goods and services (including customs tariff). European and Czech system of technical standardization. Types of standards, their creation and use. European Czech Metrology System and Metering Requirements. Placing on the market and conformity assessment procedures.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to provide information, understand the basic concepts of commodity knowledge, quality standards and testing in organizational units of both a production and an administrative nature.
A student who has successfully completed the course can: - explain the basic concepts of commodity knowledge, quality standards and testing; - characterise the different approaches to the subject; - describe the European and Czech system of technical standardisation, types of standards, their creation and use, - characterise the European and Czech metrology system and requirements for measuring instruments. The student who has successfully completed the course will be able to: - orient themselves in the individual concepts of commodity knowled, quality standards and testing, - be familiar with the European and Czech metrology system and requirements for measuring instruments, - be familiar with European and Czech legislation on the marketing of products, including control of compliance with relevant regulations, - apply conformity assessment procedures, including control of compliance with them. A student who has successfully completed the course is able to: communicate clearly and persuasively to experts and laymen information about the nature of professional problems and their own opinions on their solution.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of management at bachelor's level is assumed.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Written examination, Home assignment evaluation, Didactic test, Presentation
Completition of assigned work and mandatory participation in the exercise to the extent of at least 75% is required. In the case of failure to meet the attendance requirement due to compulsory attendance at courses of the study programme with a fixed term, it is solved by individual agreement with the course guarantor. The course is completed by an oral examination.
