Course content
|
Investment process, essence and types of investments, money current value. Investment criteria, assessment of income and hazards of investing in stocks and bonds. Stock analysis, influence of financial and dividend policy on the stock market price. Fundamental global and branch analysis of stocks. Fundamental analysis of single stocks titles, intrinsic value of a stock. Technical analysis, graphic models and indicators. Psychological analysis, Kostolany stock exchange psychology, theory of bubbles. Bond analysis, innovation of bonds. Rating evaluation of bonds, rating agencies and scales. Evaluation of bonds, incomes, intrinsic value and duration, prices and interest rates. Theory of portfolio, Markowitz model. Theory of portfolio, CAPM model, systematic and unique hazard, CML and SML line. Investment strategy and investment management. Collective investing, investment fund direction, assessment of fund efficiency.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with the knowledge of analysis of capital market and stocks and bonds, master the essentials of fundamental, technical and psychological analysis as well as the evaluation of stocks and bonds, acquaint the students with the knowledge of investment strategies, creation of stocks and bonds portfolio and its classification. Furthermore, the aim is to prove practically at seminars by help of exchange game dealing with stocks and bonds, management and evaluation of portfolio as well as the evaluation of incomes and hazards of investing in single stock titles. The study follows-up with the course Capital Markets. It deals with investing in financial instruments. Focus of the course lies in the analysis of investment stocks and bonds. Furthermore, it deals with the problem of investment decision making and theory of portfolio, collective investment, function of funds as well as evaluation of its efficiency.
A student will be able to use the valuation of shares and bonds and use the results to make investment decisions. The student will be responsible for management and valuation of portfolio return and risk assessment of investing in shares of individual titles. The student will be able to use methods of collective investment, assess the performance of funds and their performance.

The assignment is granted upon completion of the seminar paper - passive investment strategy in a period of 7 weeks (evaluation of expected and real revenue, portfolio risk and single stock titles). The examination comprises of 14 questions (the time for completion is 90 minutes).
