Course content
1. The term international security and international relations 2. Actors of the international security environment and their regulation by international law 3. United Nations: history and organization 4. United Nations: international migration (UNHCR) and public health protection (WHO) 5. North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO): history and organization 6. North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO): collective security 7. North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO): security policy and mission 8. The European Union (EU): security policy and institutions 9. Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and Visegrad group (V4) 10. Convergence in the international security environment: International Labour Organization (ILO), International Criminal Court (ICC) 11. Convergence in the international security environment: common security and defence capacity 12. Intelligence and diplomacy as a part of security policy 13. Comphrensive approach in complex environment: security sector reconstruction / nation building / social re-development

Learning outcomes
The aim is to inform about the actors of international relations and security policy environment and inform with basic theoretical knowledge on the possible use in the assessment of international and national conditions. In addition, the findings presented in the course needed to understand the involvement of Czech Republic, its institutions and security institutions in the international security environment.
Student gets basic knowledge in the field of international environmental security policy.

Assignement is awarded on the base of the student´s actvity (3 poinst, 1 point = an aktivity). Minimum attendance is 75%. The exam is oral.
