Course content
MS Word as a word processing tool: - typographic rules; - styles, caption, cross-reference, table of contents, inserting objects. MS Excel as tool for data analysis: - editing and graphic layout tables, adressing, work with a large table; - basic work with functions; - creating and editing charts; - working with data tools; - pivot tables, conditional formats, summaries.

Learning outcomes
The course aims to consolidate students' secondary school knowledge of MS Excel. The student understands Excel as an analytical tool and is able to use both basic and advanced functions.
A student who has successfully completed the course can: respect the rules of typographic rules; describe and explain the advantages of working with basic tools in MS Word; describe and explain the advantages of working with advanced tools in MS Excel; list and describe the possibility of processing a large table; explain the use of a PivotTable; describe a graph editing options; explain the use of each type of function in data processing; A student who has successfully completed the course can: apply typographical rules in word processing; be orient with MS Word tools; to effectively the use MS Word to process the final thesis and in practice; create and edit a table and a graph in MS Excel; use functions and data analysis tools; The student who has successfully completed the course is able to: to design the appearance and structure of the document; decide on the suitability of using MS Office tools to solve the tasks; independently design a data analysis process; to communicate comprehensively and convincingly with professionals and laymen information on the nature of professional issues and own opinion on their solution; independently expand your knowledge, skills and competencies in MS Office; summarize the views of other team members and implement them in the solution of the problem.
Prerequisites
Basic skills in PC, MS Excel and MS Word utilization. Principle of work in this product menu, configuration and help.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Home assignment evaluation, Systematic monitoring

Assignment: students have to submit all exercises (examples) in given deadline (and evaluation OK). Positive evaluation of the project from Word and the test from Excel. More information is available in the Moodle.
