Course content
Knowledge society (human and knowledge, the role of science in the knowledge society) and knowledge economy. Knowledge management prospects. Knowledge management model in organization, knowledge base of organization. Organizational learning and knowledge transfer. Knowledge management strategy and implementation of knowledge management in an organization. Knowledge processes and knowledge-information infrastructure. Methods, techniques and tools of knowledge management. Evaluation of knowledge management in an organization. The role of information and communication technologies in knowledge management. Knowledge management systems and their architecture. Schemes for representation of knowledge and ontology. Life cycle of knowledge management system. Future trends in knowledge management.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with approaches to knowledge management and its tools with an emphasis on the system context presented by the knowledge economy and knowledge society.
A student who has successfully completed the course can: explain the influence of knowledge on the current economy and society; characterize and distinguish different perspectives of knowledge management research; describe the knowledge management model in the organization and the possibility of completing the organization's knowledge base; categorize and compare knowledge transfer strategies; explain the influence of knowledge technologies on individual knowledge processes; compare implementation of knowledge management system and information system. A student who has successfully completed the course can: develop an organization's knowledge management strategy; analyze the organization's knowledge needs; design a system of knowledge management assessment in the organization; choose appropriate tools to support individual knowledge processes. The student who has successfully completed the course is able to: decide independently and responsibly on knowledge in an organization, in new or changing contexts, taking into account the wider societal implications of decisions; define and coordinate assignments for professional knowledge management activities according to evolving context and available resources; plan, support and manage the acquisition of additional team members' expertise, skills and capabilities.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment, Self project defence

Assignment (online and on-site): participation in exercises (see directive), completion of seminar tasks with a minimum success rate of 60 %, completion and successful defence of a practical project. Examination (online and on-site): The examination is written with a success rate of at least 60 %. In MS Teams in case of online examination. Main communication channel: IS Stag.
