Course content
Introduction to the topic, terminology, key concepts. Part I. Fractals, Self-Similarity, Measures, Dimensions, Statistical characteristics, Summary of Part I. Part II. Chaos, Phase Space, Initial conditions sensitivity, Bifurcations, Data analysis, Controlled chaos, Summary of Part II.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to master basic theoretical knowledge in the field of fractals and chaos.
Students will be able to apply the following items: self-similarity, measurements, dimension and statistic attributes of fractals in relation with the geographic data, the phase space, sensitivity towards initial conditions, bifurcation and chaos management on data in economic subjects. Students will be able to defend acquired knowledge in scientific discussions.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

The assignment is granted upon elaboration and defence of the seminar essay on a given theme. The examination consists of both oral and written part.
