Course content
Physical basis of acoustic signals Digitization of acoustic signals Representation of acoustic signals in a computer Acoustic signal as a random process Methods of processing in time and frequency domain Specific features of the acoustic signal of human speech Introduction to advanced methods of processing of acoustic data

Learning outcomes
The aim of the coursce is the presentation and usage demonstration of the methods of acoustic signals processing.
The course emphasis is on understanding the basic characteristics of acoustic signals, resource characteristics of these signals and practical possibilities of processing using computer technology. During the course, students will acquire knowledge that is applied in a practical project. Teaching is realized with the help of software Excel, Matlab, FreeMat.
Prerequisites
Basic skills in PC and MS Excel and Matlab utilization, basic knowledge in analog and digital signal area.

Assessment methods and criteria
Home assignment evaluation, Systematic monitoring

Assignment: Successful defense of a practical project in which the student demonstrates the ability to apply the acquired knowledge.
