Course content
Communication skills and managerial skills in social sciences. Typology of managerial communication. Styles and forms of managerial decision making. Presentation skills. Teamwork. Leadership. Time management. Coaching. Negotiation, Win-Win Negotiation. Management of meetings.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Methods of individual activities, Demonstration, Stimulating activities (simulation, games, drama)
  • Preparation for a credit (assessment) - 16 hours per semester
  • Contact teaching - 14 hours per semester
  • Term paper - 40 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 20 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquire the ability to communicate, discuss and understand the communication process in a broader context and to develop managerial skills with regard to different types of organisations and levels of people management.
A student who has successfully completed the course can: define basic communication and management techniques related to social and work life; distinguish between managerial communication and other types, as well as styles and forms of decision-making; describe the basic theses of the concepts of leadership, coaching, negotiation, decision-making; recognize effective presentations and know how to prepare such presentations. A student who has successfully completed the course will be able to: Communicate their ideas clearly; manage different types of negotiations, work with the basics of motivating work teams and individuals in solving tasks; apply the basics of effective negotiation and decision-making in solving tasks; Reflect on the positive aspects of coaching and implement its possible involvement in work practice. A student who has successfully completed the course is able to: Recognize different forms of communication and select appropriate methods of communication with respect to the situation in which they are in using verbal and non-verbal elements; teamwork and effective planning of their working time.

Assessment methods and criteria
Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment, Discussion, Self project defence

Asignement will be awarded based on completion of assignments and activity in class. In addition, based on attendance according to the relevant faculty guidelines. Students will present individual skills on assigned topics to other colleagues and defend their understanding of the main thesis of their topic in a credit discussion with the instructor.
