Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to explain the nature of the European integration process, the European economy and the governance of European institutions.
A student who has successfully completed the course can: describe in detail the economic development of Europe, including the current situation; explain the development, functions, powers, governance and legislative process of the institutions of the European Union; the technical terminology of European administration and legislation; characterise the methodology of the application of different EU policies. A student who has successfully completed the course will be able to: orient themselves to the functioning of the European institutions, their competences and current developments within these institutions and with each other; understand the current European economic situation; select relevant data in the field of the European economy and choose an appropriate method for sorting them; interpret knowledge in the field of European integration. A student who has successfully completed the course is able to: argue successfully on past and present integration developments in Europe; independently and professionally present the acquired knowledge and apply the skills in the field of contemporary European developments; argue successfully in the field of EU economic policies; evaluate and present convincingly their assessment of the specific activities of European institutions and their practical functioning; communicate convincingly and knowledgeably to experts and lay people about the function of governance and the distribution of powers in the European institutions.
