Course content
1. National state, society, and individual: an analytical framework 2. Law and protection of society: the Czech Republice 3. State of law and human rights 4. Critical infrastructure 11. Cyber security 12. Protection of cultural heritage and population protection during warfare

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide knowledge how can be individuals, families, communities, minicipalities, regions, etc. protected by power if the central government from risks and treats. Such as a central policy is a precondiction for a sustainable development in long run.
Students who passed the course are able to: - explain the term of a nation, society, and an individum; - analyse relationships among the government, market and housholds by an application of the Pestoff´s triangle; - explain the concept of human security in the nexus with life in the Czech Republik; - distinguish between hard and soft security; - name a list list of laws dealing with the issues of human rights in the Czech Republic; - explain substantial circumstances of a temporary suspension of human rights; - list a set of human rights with links to administrative bodies in charche of such as an agenda; - list ministries responsible for particular kinds of security, e.g., food security; - apply theory of social problems in nexus with security policy. Students who passed the course can: - analyze links between the Czech ministries and industries; - operacionalize terms of social sciences into the security sector; - search for extra sources on soft power; - emloy system theory for a network analyses within the civil administration; - apply the AAA-model (an arena, actors, and their agenda) in order to analyse structures within the state; - provide an eassy guide in human rights agenda; - provide a guide to laymen in order to give them information about the organization of the Czech state; - search for extra source on society protection. Students who passed the course is capable: - to give to their economic thinking a dimension of humanity; - to make decisions on a resolution of particular situation; - to share their oppinions and positions with experts and public about the solutions of problems in the area of security protection.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Home assignment evaluation, Discussion

In order to get an right to be examinied, students need to get three points for activities during workshops. As an activity is graded: team work, self presentation in public, taking part in public debates with a lector or students. Besides, each student is obligaded to draft a short term paper. The topic is related to some topic presented by the course. The examination is oral one. Students pick a topic (question) and having some time for taking notes, they have to answer the topic during a discussion with the examinator.
