Course content
The concept of method in ELT. The Grammar-Translation Method. The Direct Method. The Audiolingual Method. TPR. Suggestopedia. The Silent Way. The Natural Approach. Community Language Learning. Communicative Approaches. Content-Based Instruction / CLIL. Task-Based Language Teaching.

Learning outcomes
ELT Methodology II is one of the core subjects of the Professional module. It draws on the basic components of student teachers professional competence acquired in the undergraduate programme and extends their knowledge from the course ELT Methodology I. Similarly, it aims to further develop students´ skill to orientate in complex issues related to the content and process of teaching / learning English to primary / lower secondary school learners. The main focus of the course is the area of methods and approaches in ELT.
Students´ professional competence is developed mainly in the area of organisation of teaching / learning processes. The main focus of the course are methods and approaches in ELT.

Assessment methods and criteria
Discussion, Student portfolio analysis

Active participation in seminars (min. 80%). Interview based on submitted materials including a list of literature (all the materials have to be submitted three days before the interview).
