Course content

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Methods of individual activities
  • Contact teaching - 6 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 20 hours per semester
  • Independent critical reading - 40 hours per semester
  • Preparation for a credit (assessment) - 9 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Study subject Selected chapters from general didactics and ELT methodology is a concluding subject of the Professional Module. The aim of this subject is to provide students with space for analyzing gained knowledge, its reflection and deepening. Theoretical foundations of students´ professional competence as well as students´ professional development is supported through discussing selected topics and connecting them to some current themes. In the seminars current needs of concrete students in selected areas will be responded to.
Students develop required theoretical knowledge in selected areas from general didactics as well as ELT methodology. They will be able to generalize knowledge acquired in previous study subjects of the Professional module and to connect them with selected current topics.
