Course content
Process of designing a corpus. Compilation of written corpus of English as a foreign language. Annotation and tagging. Recording, transcribing and editing spoken corpus. Analysis of learner corpora. Interpretation of findings.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to further develop the knowledge and skills which students acquired in the course Corpus linguistics I. It is mainly focused on the creation of a corpus of English as a foreign language: compiling, editing and annotating the corpus, including a spoken and written parts. Subsequently, students' analyses are aimed at the specific features of learner corpora and potential applications of findings to the development of their own communicative competence in English.
