Course content
Communication, social communication, pedagogical communication and interaction. Verbal and non-verbal communication. Classroom English - modifications, questioning, feedback. Classroom management, administrative and organizational stuff issues. Communicating with colleagues (school climate, team work, etc.) Communicating and cooperating with parents. Techniques of active listening, dealing with conflicts. Self-monitoring and reflection techniques. Voice care, mental care.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Methods of individual activities, Demonstration, Skills training, Stimulating activities (simulation, games, drama)
  • Home preparation for classes - 13 hours per semester
  • Independent critical reading - 25 hours per semester
  • Contact teaching - 26 hours per semester
  • Team project - 25 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The objective of the course is to develop the student's communicative and social competencies essential for building a safe, respectful, and democratic environment within the classroom and among the teaching staff. Students acquire principles of partner-based communication with pupils, colleagues, and parents, and actively collaborate on the planning and reflection of the educational process through group teaching. Students learn to work critically with the spatial and digital organization of instruction, form their professional self-concept through reflective techniques, and systematically familiarize themselves with strategies for psychohygiene and managing professional stress. KPUAJ: 3.1., 3.3., 5.1., 5.2., 6.1. a 6.3.
Evolvement of specific skills will be based on training through experience oriented situation conceptions. Attention will be given to relevant theoretical background (concept of communicative competence, Krashen´s theory of second language acquisition, etc.) as well as to relevant key documents (CEFR, etc.).

Oral examination, Work-related product analysis, Creative work analysis, Systematic monitoring

Active participation in seminars (max. 2 classes missing) Planning and the realization of team teaching and the following reflections. Ongoing fulfillment of all the requirements and tasks Reflection of the course (written, using an intervention self-assessment tool) and the following discussion Familiarity with compulsory and chosen recommended literature.
