Course content
Introduction (schedule, requirements). Introduction to research: definition, phases, types. Research projects. Planning research: research topic, research problem, purpose and aims of research, information sources and their use. Organization of research: research project, methodology. Methods and techniques. Research designs: presentations, discussions, feedback. Doing research: methodology, field research. IT in research. Data analysis and interpretation: presenting, qualitative and quantitative analysis. Research writing and presenting: research project, principles of presentation. Final presentations and defending research projects, discussions, feedback.

Learning outcomes
The subject is the introduction to methodology and empirical research in the field of company structure and market resarch. Students will learn about individual phases of a research process and will be able to understand the basic research methods and techniques to make their own research designs, conduct research, i.e. to apply their understanding in a small-scale research projects. They will also learn how to work with information, ICT and present research findings.
The student acquires key skills for conducting empirical research in the field of company culture and market research. They learn how to plan, prepare, and apply research methods and tools, i.e. how to collect, process and present results of their research.

Oral examination, Work-related product analysis, Self project defence, Presentation

1. Conducting, presenting and defending the small-scare research project (topic selection, research question, secondary analysis, field research, data analysis, presentation with e.g. MS PP/poster, submitting a written research report and its defending. 2. Attendance (2 missed classes max), compulsory attendance on the research design presentation session: April 10, 2015. 3. Active participation in classes (preparing the assigned tasks), incl.
