Course content
Methodological approaches to the history of pedagogical thinking. The history of pedagogy as a discipline - periodization and terms, developmental phases and working methods in the area of the history of pedagogy. Sources and literature, the development of basic problems in the area of the history of pedagogical thinking and education. The development of the aims of education, the development of the content of education, the development of the concept of the teaching profession. The development of opinions regarding the understanding a child; the beginnings of the institutionalization of the education and its organizations. The development of special pedagogic branches; the developmental influences of psychology, philosophy, biology, and sociology on pedagogical thinking.

Learning outcomes
The objective of this course is to introduce to students the development of pedagogical thinking in individual problem areas.
The student will understand the conceptions of education in the history of pedagogical thinking and will become familiar with the works of recognized thinkers in that field.

Credit is based on an individual work on the creation of a virtual pedagogic museum or on a written paper based on the study of raw sources and archive documents.
