Learning outcomes
The objective of this course is to analyze the basic conceptions, ideas and methods of philosophical esthetics from the 18th and 19th centuries. Special attention will be paid to the fundamental meaning of Kant's theory of esthetics and its influence on forming the phases of esthetics after Kant and its transformation in the philosophy of art. The interpretations are particularly focused on the analysis of the key esthetic concepts of beauty, nobility, non-interested liking and purposeless-usefulness.
