Course content
|
The course is devoted to the joint reading of important ancient Greek sources, especially philosophical ones. Intensive preparation at home is required. During the reading, students learn to understand the texts, comprehend their syntactic structure, and translate them into Czech using appropriate linguistic means. Learning outcomes
|
The course focuses on reading philosophical texts in Ancient Greek. Knowledge of Greek morphology and syntax (to the extent covered in courses BGRE1-6) is a prerequisite. The aim of the course is to gradually acquire practical skills in reading and understanding original ancient texts.
The aim of the course is to provide philosophy students with training that will enable them to work with original Greek texts (reliable mastery of ancient Greek grammar and basic vocabulary, experience in reading coherent texts, etc.).

Oral examination, Written examination
Regular active participation in the seminar (at least 80%), test on the material covered, and reading exam.
