Course content

We follow requirements and implementing regulations, as they were designed for the specialisation of HLS, students organize their practice individually, the practice runs either from July to September or during the Summer Term. The condition for obtaining a credit is an individual consultation about character and contents of the passed practice (including a discussion on a reflective diary). Students separately (in co-operation with the secretariat of the Department) conclude a treaty which they submit to registration by return.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the mandatory professional practice for students of historical-literary studies is to connect theoretical teaching with practical experience in workplaces corresponding in their focus to the content and methods of the HLS bachelor's degree.
The practice is recommended for the period between the second and third year, or during the third year of the semester, and the credits are registered during the third year of the semester exam period. Students search for suitable workplaces independently, their approval is subject to the decision of the KLKS management. They also independently draw up their own employment contract (see), which they submit for approval to the KLK secretariat.

Prerequisites
|
We assume involvement in creative, communication and project activities of cultural centers, newspaper and magazine editorial offices, management of publishing houses, libraries and museums, including institutions providing Internet services. Students keep a detailed internship diary about the course of the practice, which, together with other documents (evaluation of the quality of work by an employee of the organization, created texts, articles, etc.), is the basis for the final interview prior to the award of credit.

Assessment methods and criteria

Student performance assessment, Discussion
The condition for granting credit is an individual consultation on the nature and content of the completed parctice (including a discussion over a reflective diary). The duration of the professional practice is 4 weeks (continuous) or 6 weeks (continuous), the total number of credit points counted is 10. The above also applies to the implementation phases, which could possibly take place remotely (online) due to the future pandemic situation, both via email correspondence (methodological documents in Word, Power Point) and video consultations (video seminars) via MS Teams.
