The course concentrates on serious, yet not extensive poetic texts, mainly from the 1930s to the 1950s. We will approach the poetics and noetics of these "small masterpieces" by reading them carefully, in terms of genres, themes and motifs, quotations and references, but also by observing their figurative and generally rhetorical features. The intention is to read these poems in a substantial and inspiring way: to focus on them microscopically, and at the same time to see them in the totality of the poet's poetics or directly in the coordinates of the time (Deml, Weiner, Reynek, Součková, Nezval, Halas, Holan, Seifert, Zahradníček, Kainar, Kolář, Vokolek, Mikulášek, Hejda, Brousek).
