Course content
|
The lecture focuses on the following themes: Emergence and roots of the Polish culture. Medieval culture and Polish society. Early modern period Polish culture. Polish folk culture and its archaic roots. The idea of Sarmatism. Baroque. Enlightenment and the romantic period. Reflection (film as a mirror of the Polish society).

Learning outcomes
|
The goal of the lecture is to familiarize the students with the main tendencies of the Polish culture that have determined the structure and the identity of the Polish nation - in both diachronic (historical development) and synchronic (20th century) approach.
The student becomes familiar with the basic historical layers of the Polish culture and their role in the formation of the Polish identity.

Polish language at A2 level.
