Course content
Basic geographical information about Poland. Polish waters and mountains. Polish national parks, protected territories, polish tourism. Basic demographic information about Poland. Polish towns. Polish sights, cultural centres in past and present day. Political and administrative system of Poland. Basic information about Polish economy. Made in Poland - typical Polish products; school system in Poland. Contemporary Polish democracy, political parties. Contemporary Polish emigracy, Polish dispersion in the world and in the Czech Republic; Polish army outside Poland. Polish - Czech relations in present day. Image of Poland in the Czech internet.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Methods of individual activities
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is the introduction to the Polish way of life and the introduction to contemporary social and political situation in Poland. The Czechs and the Polish are neighbours, but they do not know each other well. Students should gain the information about the Polish way of life, the information about Polish geography and policy.
Students should know basic facts about geography, policy and the way of life in Poland.
