Course content
|
Language and its function, language development, spoken and written form. Theory of a mark. Languagews of the world - classification (language typology). Linguistics - concept, contents, methods. System and text (after de Saussure). Phonological language system. Morphology (concept of grammatical categories) I. Morphology (concept of grammatical categories) II. Introduction to syntaxis. Lexical-semantic language system. Contemporary science about language (structuralism, transformational grammar, cognitivism, contrastive linguistics, corpus linguistics). Main streams of linguistics (psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, textlinguistics, pragmatics, commutating linguistics etc.). General characteristics westslavonian languages. General characteristics of Polish language. Comparison of Polish and Czech languages. Development of Polish language, its periodization. Concept of national language - Polish national language. Literary language (concept, stratification, functional styles). Standard and codification of literary language. Polish literary language - characteristics, stratification. Functional styles of Polish language. Language culture. Development tendencies of contemporary literary Polish language. Dialect - relation between literary language and dialects and other non-literary forms. Non-literary forms of Polish language. Written communicative form of language and ortography.

Learning outcomes
|
The goal of the course is the introduction to the basics of Polish linguistics and to inform students about linguistic terminology and about specifics of Polish philology.
Students should answer basic questions of linguistics, of linguistic terminology and Polish philology. They should be able to solve the complex of linguistic problems.
