Course content
Rhetorics of Ancient Time (before Aristotle, Hellenic, Roman) Rhetorics in Middle Ages Disintegration of rhetorics in the system of science and culture of Modern Age 19th and 20th centuries rhetorics Typology of rhetoric theories (agonal rhetorics, rhetorics as philosophy and science promotion, theory of argumentation, educational rhetorics, rhetorics in textology and stylistics)

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book)
Learning outcomes
The main aim of the cycle of lectures is a complex presentation of rhetorics as a key discipline of humanities and communicative activity study, including historical background of its transformations and functions since Ancient Time to the present, all together in value and opinion comparison of specific development periods. Theory of rhetorics will be completed with different kinds of analysis, for example of concrete authors/orators or rhetoric style signals in various works of art and science.
Ability of understanding rhetorics in various historical and cultural contexts Skill to analyse and classify rhetoric performances of different historical periods, individual styles, including speeches of nowadays Skill to create and present rhetoric speech of one´s own based on specific criteria, possibly to use rhetoric strategies in a work of art or science

Rhetoric performance and its critical review. Improving knowledge of specialized bibliography together with reading commentaries regarding the history of rhetorics in specific periods, personality of an orator or a rhetotorics theorist, possibly selected rehetorics problem. Both will be the subject of the final exam, apart from historical and theoretical draw question
