The aim of this course is to introduce students to the basic conceptions that enable insight into the attribute character of the culture, including some problems of aesthetics and criticism. The instruction will be historically oriented. The necessary condition for this study is creative participation, which requires an ability to work independently, to search for and choose both the topic and the literature, and simultaneously to stand before other students and present. In a similar fashion, the ability to formulate questions and to look for answers (i.e. to participate actively) is also developed. Finally, the necessary theoretical basis is developed. For this course, a basic orientation in the history of philosophy and a live interest in art (among other things) is desirable. In this cycle of lessons, students will present their papers on "What has meaning and sense for me?" (reflected by literature). The lectures will be accompanied by analyses of various types of artifacts, including art.
Students will be able to combine different forms, working with texts, and also to take up the critical attitude towards the field of culture. They will acquire theoretical equipment. beginning with the basic categories up to recognizing the individual critical schools.
