Course content
Semantic gesture (J. Mukařovský, M. Jankovič, F. Červenka, etc.). Type/attribute, meta-attribute: Quijote in Czech art (I. S. Turgeněv, R. Barthes, M. Foucault; V. Černý, M. Kundera, etc.). Moving subject: identity in space and time. Style. Novel - the river and analogy in other arts (Y. Mathauser, etc.). Aesthetic enjoyment. Experience. Quality. Value (V. Zuska, T. Kulka, etc.). Esthetic categories: Humor and related phenomena (H. Bergson, S. Freud, I. Osolsobě, etc.). The high and the low. Necessity (and neurotics) of the tragic (M. Bachtin, etc.). The drastic and brutality (A. F. Losev - V. P. Šestakov, etc.). Identification and distance. Self-creating moments of perception (Ch. W. Morris, V. Zuska, U. Eco, etc.). Interpretation I. (F. D. E. Schleiermacher, W. Dilthey, H. G. Gadamer, P. Ricoeur). Interpretation II. (U. Eco, R. Rorty, J. Culler, T. Todorov, and others). Czech literature connected to the topic. Aesthetic experiment. History. The Czech tradition (Hostinský, Zich, Sychra, and others).

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to use the acquired knowledge in theory for the development of the view of attribute aspects of culture and to deepen insight into aesthetic phenomena. Knowledge of the literature that was obligatory for the first term is expected. Necessary literature connected to the topics of this term are listed below.
Students will be able to combine different forms working with texts, and also to take up the critical attitude towards the field of culture. They will acquire theoretical equipment. beginning with the basic categories up to recognizing the individual critical schools.
