Learning outcomes
|
The goal of this course is to present Slovenia from the geographic, topographic, demographic, economic, political and cultural point of view. Basic facts about Slovenia (historical and traditional regions, commons, local specifics, main tourist destinations). Key personalities in Slovenian arts, culture and politics. Problems of Slovenian minorities abroad, their cultural and national consciousness.
Students will gain basic geographical orientation, knowledge about location and the importance of the biggest cities, the biggest rivers, mountains etc. They will get information about contemporary Slovene demography, about population and minorities out of Slovenia and about other national minorities in Slovenia. They will learn about the contemporary political system.

Oral examination
Oral exam (60 % pass/fail line), regular attendance, compulsory presentation of the seminar paper.
