Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Stimulating activities (simulation, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
The lectures will explain individual and institutional share of Czech writers in value orientation of Czech society through their integration into art groups or artistic styles, together with generational, social and spatial contexts of cultural life since the Austria-Hungary times and First Republic period to People´s Republic Czechoslovakia; main focus will be on public functions of an artist, his or her position in cultural and social debates, on the figth with censorship and self-censorship and also international contacts
Literary-historical and culturally-political knowledge of modern Czech ideologies and schools of thougt, practical competence to work with different signs of literary life, ability to distinguish various discourses and semiotic-communicative research methods, detection of different mechanisms of cultural awareness based on analysis of topoi, symbols, stereotypes and archetypes of collective imagination.

Work-related product analysis, Discussion, Student portfolio analysis

Active attendance, systematic work on personal commentaries and notes concerning primary and secundary literature, critical report dealing with one individually chosen chapter of a listed monography.
