Religious Studies and inter-religious dialogue. Models of inter-religious relationships. Forms of inter-religious dialogue. History of inter-religious dialogue. Hinduism in dialogue. Buddhism in dialogue. Judaism in dialogue. Islam in dialogue. Inter-religious contacts in China. Inter-religious contacts in India. Inter-religious contacts in Iran. Traditional Religions in contact with Christianity and Islam.

The objective of this course is to introduce the relationships among different religions (on the basis of theoretical models as well as in practice) and to outline approaches to inter-religious dialogue in the major religions, except Christianity.
Student will gain an understanding of the problems of inter-religious relationships and recognize what is common for various religions, what can unite their followers, and in which areas religious dialogue can take place among the various belivers. |
