Introduction to dialogue in Europe and to Christianity in dialogue. Dialogue between theology and philosophy. Dialogue between faith and science. Dialogue between Christianity and secularism. Official participation of the Churches in interreligious dialogue. Personalities of the world Christianity in interreligious dialogue. Dialogue in Europe - closing. History of inter-religious dialogue in the Czech lands. Czech personalities in inter-religious dialogue. Czech personalities in dialogue between faith and science.

Learning outcomes
|
The course concentrates on dialogue in Europe and in the Czech lands. Its objective is also to introduce the approaches of the Christians to other than Christian religions and philosophies in past and present and to outline the problems of a dialogue between faith and science or faith and secularism.
The student will get deeper knowledge of religious history of the West and of dialogues which were present among various religious and ideological orientations and approaches. He will also gain a knowledge of various types of these dialogues in present.

Credit is received by writing an essay. Attendance at lectures is obligatory (min. 80%).
