The spiritual search in the popular music. Religious subjects in the lyrics of George Harrison. Religious subjects in the lyrics of Johnny Cash. Religious subjects in the lyrics of Bob Dylan. Religious subjects in the lyrics of Leonard Cohen. Religious subjects in the lyrics of Cat Stevens alias Yusuf Islam. Religious subjects in the lyrics of Bono Vox.

Learning outcomes
|
The objective of this course is to introduce the spiritual search of the popular music and to look at the subjects from Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism in the lyrics of selected musicians.
Student will comprehend the role of faith and religion in the popular music. He will be able to grasp religious subjects in the lyrics of Bob Dylan and other popular musicians.

Attendance at seminars is obligatory. To gain credit, a student must write an essay on the spiritual search in the popular music (in English).
