Course content |
Gender and religion (introduction). Women in Indian religions. Women in Islam. Women in the Bahá'í Faith. Women in Judaism. Female characters in the Old Testament "Male" and "female" images of God in the Bible. Mary of Nazareth in the Bible and in Church traditions. Another female characters in the Gospels. Female characters in other New-Testament books. Women in early Church. Women in the patristics.

Learning outcomes |
The course gives introduction to gender problems in selected religions, in the Bible and in the history of Christianity in antiquity.
Students will be versed in the theme "gender and religion". They will understand gender problems in relation to the Bible and early Christianity. |
