Course content
Confirmative research strategies. Basic knowledge of methods and techniques of sociological research. Data collection and field research techniques. Specialised data collection techniques. Basic analytical tasks, with possible application.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to broaden and deepen basic knowledge of anthropological methodology. The course focuses on deeper theoretical reflection on anthropological methodological issues and on discussion of specific field research projects. The three thematic units are: 1. understanding the development of anthropological methodology; 2. practical advice, reflection, and discussion concerning individual methods and ethics; and 3. contemporary epistemological issues related to anthropological research. The seminars focus first on reading texts related to methodological issues, followed by time devoted to specific research projects.
At the end of the course, students will be able to reflect the crucial questions of anthropological methodology, choose and apply relevant methods and techniques for particular anthropological research, plan, realise and evaluate anthropological research project.
