Course content
1. Probation and Mediation Service of the Czech Republic - Probation and Mediation Service Act and primary documents. 2. Probation and Mediation Service of the Czech Republic - organisation of services. 3. Probation. 4. Mediation. 5. Probation and juveniles. 6. Methods: explaining, convincing, practicing, individual and collective judgment (reflection), indirect educational impact. 7. Methods and forms of educational work in the time mode. The problem of discipline in a group. Educational counseling. Educational counselor: the personality and the qualification. The influence of educational counseling and difficult situations. The results of educational counseling and its perspectives.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Methods of individual activities, Skills training
  • Participation in classes - 26 hours per semester
  • Independent critical reading - 29 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 30 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an exam - 35 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The objective of the course is to introduce the students to the methodology of educational work.
The students will enhance their knowledge in the field of the Methodology of probation activities with regard to the students´ specialization.
