Course content
The development of an institutional care. The history of penalty and punishment. Detention in the Czech Republic. Prison service in the Czech Republic. The organizational structure of a prison service. The determinants of serving the sentence of confinement. The legislative framework of serving the sentence of confinement. The function and the point of serving the sentence of confinement. The programs of treatment. Pedagogical profession in the context of VTOS. The educational function of a sentence. The methods of resocialization work. The particularities of the resocialization process of women.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Work with text (with textbook, with book)
  • Contact teaching - 39 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an exam - 80 hours per semester
  • Independent critical reading - 50 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 71 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The objective of the course is to introduce the students to the basic problems of the resocializacion pedagogy.
The students will enhance their knowledge in the field of Resocialization Pedagogy I., with regard to the students´ specialization.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Home assignment evaluation

Before entering the course the students are required to have passed the course SPPG. Seminar paper, a discussion about a given topic, a written test and an oral examination.
